Victoria Ghost Side Chair |
Louis Ghost Armchair |
Hudson Armchair - Polished |
| Philippe Starck's Victoria Ghost Chair (2006), like her cousin the
Louis Ghost, presented a significant manufacturing challenge for Kartell.
Crafted from a single piece of injection-molded polycarbonate |
Who else but Philippe Starck would dare mess with a king?
Reinventing the classic Louis XVI armchair for Kartell, the playful
Louis Ghost Armchair (2002) is a postmodern triumph of technical
innovation and historical style. |
When asked about the collaboration, Starck replied, "Working with
Emeco has allowed me to use a recycled material and transform it into
something that never needs to be discarded - a tireless and unbreakable
chair to enjoy for a lifetime. It is a chair you never own, you just use
it for a while until it is the next person's turn." |

| Kong Side Chair - Brushed
|
Kong Armchair - Polished
|
| Leave it to designer Philippe Starck to find inspiration in the
furniture of Versailles when creating a chair for a Chinese restaurant
in Paris. |
While the shape of Kong recalls more delicate French designs, the
manufacturing of this chair gives it an ability to stand up to even the
most unruly of patrons. |

| Morgans Chair - Brushed
|
Morgans Chair - Polished
|
| Andrée Putman designed Morgans Chair (2008) created with Emeco, the
Pennyslvania-based furniture manufacturer famous for its 1006 Navy®
Chair (1944). |
The Morgans Chair, like all Emeco chairs, is made with a 77-step
proprietary process that transforms 80% recycled aluminum into a
material that has the strength of steel. The result is a chair that is
so durable that it has an estimated lifespan of 150 years |

Morgans Chair - Powdercoat
|
Prism Glass Table - Rectangle |
| Created for the Morgans Hotel by Andrée Putman, who had designed the
original rooms in the early ’80s. |
The angular beauty of this sleek glass table draws upon elegant
precedents: the strict architecture of Marcel Breuer's seminal work and
the clean geometry of Le Corbusier's "equipment for living." |
Prouvé Dining Tables

|
Prouve EM Table |
Prouve Gueridon Table |
| Made of sheet metal, each tapered leg is turned out and angled on a
diagonal slant to distribute the downward flow of energy on the table,
making an incredibly sturdy surface for working or dining. |
Proving that modernist tables need not be glass and metal to have
functional and aesthetic impact |
